Celebrating Black Excellence at MACA! Our JAG students continue to highlight inspiring Black leaders and careers for Black History Month. Submitted by our JAG student Bailey R., we honor Marian Anderson, a trailblazing contralto singer and civil rights icon. Known for her powerful voice and grace under adversity, Anderson became the first African American to perform at the Metropolitan Opera in 1955. Her historic 1939 concert at the Lincoln Memorial, after being denied a performance at Constitution Hall due to segregation, remains a defining moment in the fight for racial equality in the arts. Stay tuned as we continue celebrating history, excellence, and the trailblazers who inspire future generations! #BlackHistoryMonth #JAGLeads #MACAProud #BlackExcellence #MarianAnderson #Trailblazer
