This application is open to all current students enrolled in St. Landry Parish public schools in 8th through 12th grade. Jump Start Afterhours CompTIA + will be offered online only (with the option of testing in-person if needed), and requires an internet connection and a Chromebook. The program will begin around November 8, 2021, and end on May 26, 2022. Program contingent on the number of applicants. The application will close on October 29, 2021. This course is designed to help you learn more about the digital world. If you are interested in Computer Science and/or Technology this is the course for you. All St. Landry Parish schools and facilities will be open to students Tuesday, August 31, 2021, with the exception of Cankton Elementary, Eunice Junior High (follow pre-hurricane hybrid schedule), Port Barre Middle, Port Barre High School, and Washington Career and Technical Education Center. The above-mentioned schools will continue at-home learning for students. You will receive additional information from your school’s administrator. Students attending the St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy will be contacted with additional information regarding coursework.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends that everyone 12 years and older get a COVID-10 vaccine to protect against COVID-19. In an effort to increase the availability of vaccines to children in St. Landry Parish, the St. Landry Parish School Board formed a partnership with the Region 4 Office of Public Health and Local Pharmacies to offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to students 12-years of age and older and to staff members.
