✨🌟 Today, our JAG students had the privilege of hearing from guest speaker Miss Madison Collins, a model and website/brand manager for HerringStones. She shared her personal journey, how she arrived at her current career, and where her path may lead in the future. Her message was inspiring and uplifting, reminding students to never give up on their dreams and to believe in themselves. 💙 Mrs. Leger, Ms. Scott, and Mrs. Joubert also had the chance to snap a photo with this inspirational beauty—who was once a student of theirs! #MACAJAG #GuestSpeaker #DreamBig #CareerJourney #Inspiration

Important St. Landry Parish School Board District-Wide Closure Notice
Please be advised that all St. Landry Parish School Board schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26th, and Tuesday, January 27th, due to forecasted winter weather conditions. This decision was reached after consulting with the National Weather Service and the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. All after-school activities, practices, and school or district-related events scheduled for these days are also canceled.
We encourage everyone to stay indoors, keep warm, and stay safe for the duration of this winter weather event. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding Wednesday’s schedule through our standard communication channels.

The Steve Carter Education Program provides $1,500
vouchers to families of eligible K-12 public school students per school year. The digital
vouchers can be used to purchase high-quality literacy and math tutoring. The program is
part of the Louisiana Tutoring Initiative and is named after the late Baton Rouge State
Representative Steve Carter. Established in R.S. 17:4032.1 through Act 415 of the 2021
Legislative Session, the program was expanded through Act 649 of the 2024 Legislative
Session.
● Available to K-12 grade public school students who are below reading and mathematics
proficiency.
● Tutoring sessions must be held after school hours, in-person or virtually.
● Families will apply through a portal and, if approved, will select an approved tutoring
provider.
*Note you must have your child’s school-issued Louisiana Student ID (LASID) number in order to
complete the application. This is a ten digit number that is assigned by schools to track student

🤖📚 Bringing the Roaring Twenties to Life with AI! 🎷🕰️

Students recently participated in an engaging AI-powered activity through Flint K12 that brought the 1920s to life! They explored the cultural, social, economic, and political changes of this exciting era through interactive lessons and thought-provoking discussions.

Students began with guiding questions, and the AI tailored each lesson to their individual learning levels—encouraging them to dig deeper, make connections, and think critically. It was a dynamic and innovative way to strengthen their understanding of the Roaring Twenties and its lasting impact on American history! 🇺🇸✨
