The St. Landry Chamber Foundation is currently recruiting students for the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) membership. The mission of the YLC is to provide a forum for youth leaders, promote youth leadership, and offer a variety of program and training events. If you know any students in Grades 9-12 who would benefit from this program, please use the form below to submit their information. Mr. Autrey’s EMR students created Positional and Directional illustrations using Adobe Photoshop. This project allowed students to demonstrate knowledge and demonstrate their creativity.

This year’s theme, Flowers in Bloom: Planting Seeds of Hope, is coming to life as they decorate our school with beautiful pink flowers, ribbons, and inspiring messages. 🌷💖 Join us in spreading awareness and hope as we honor survivors, remember those we've lost, and continue to fight for a cure! 🌺💪

Teamwork Makes the Dream work! 🎈🪑 Our JAG students tackled a fun challenge: building a chair entirely out of balloons that’s strong enough to sit on. Amazing work, future leaders!🎈🪑

🎉 MACA and Northwest JAG students had an incredible time at the first annual Parish Government Day yesterday! 🏛️ Our students had the unique opportunity to hear from our Parish President, Mr. Jessie Bellard, along with many dedicated parish council members. They toured the courthouse, jail, clerk of court, and Delta Grand, gaining first-hand insight into the important roles of public servants. To top off the day, we were treated to some delicious gumbo! 🥣 A huge thank you to our St. Landry Parish government members for making this day possible. Our JAG students learned so much, and we are grateful for this memorable experience!

The MACA Library is excited to announce some great new updates including a new section of books on how to draw, shelf displays showcasing books for each of MACA's talent areas, and over 100 new books added to our catalogue with even more on the way! Whether you'd like to check out one of our graphic novels, do research about a potential new hobby, or print out your science study guide, there's never been a better time to visit the library. The Library is open every day during both lunch periods and before school Mondays and Fridays.

🌟 Exciting News from Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts! 🌟 We proudly hosted our first annual JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) Initiation and Installation Ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year! 🎉 Our newly installed members and officers were officially welcomed into the JAG family, and we were honored to have Major Mark LeBlanc from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department as our guest speaker. His words of encouragement truly inspired our students! A special thank you to our principal, Mrs. Natalie Angelle, for her insightful closing remarks, leaving everyone motivated for the year ahead. Here’s to an incredible year of growth, leadership, and success! 💫
