Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
We are pleased to announce that a new superintendent of schools has been selected for St. Landry Parish School District. After an extensive search and interview process, the Board has chosen Milton Batiste, III, to lead our district into the future. Mr. Batiste is from Opelousas. He has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and supervisor in our district. Throughout his tenure in St. Landry Parish, he has served in some capacity in each of the seven school zones. Mr. Batiste has spent the last two years working as an executive director of leadership in East Baton Rouge Parish School District, a job that equipped him with the tools necessary to lead a school district. We are excited to welcome Mr. Batiste home.
Mr. Batiste has experience in leadership, integrity, a vested interest in our district, and excellent communication skills. He is a visionary leader who is decisive, strategic, and humble. We are confident that his leadership, experience, and commitment to education and community will help us achieve our goals and provide our students with the best possible education.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the selection process and provided valuable feedback. We believe that this decision will help us continue to build on our successes and make our district an even better place to learn and grow.
This is an exciting time for St. Landry Parish School District. We would like you to join us as partners in our quest for excellence with Mr. Batiste as our district leader. We look forward to working with him to provide the best possible education for our students.
Together, we can do all things.
